If you get excited easily about doing lots of interesting things, you probably also experience the side-effect of getting very bored when you’re not able to do what you love. But while you can fill up most of your time with varied and interesting things to do, there will always be some times when you have to complete a task that you just don’t feel like doing.

So what do you do when you absolutely have to knuckle down because your boss, your coworkers, your family, your friends, your lecturers or a committee you volunteered to help are relying on you and you’re about to miss the deadline if you leave it any longer. Its not worth being a rebel, you’ve just got to get it done.

Personally I react very badly to boredom so I know exactly where you’re coming from! As a result I have developed a number of coping mechanisms for getting things done so that I can go back to having fun. I apply these skills to job seeking, homework, downtime at work and the dreaded cleaning sprees.

1) Rather than setting a time-based goal, set a task based goal and use a personal project as the reward. Put all your energy into your boring task and do not stop until the task is finished. If you can get into ‘the zone’ you might even enjoy it!

2) Set things up so that you’ve got fewer boring things to do in the first place. Whenever you find yourself getting bored, make a note of what the task is and then find a way to delegate it to someone else. While you might not be able to get rid of everything that is boring due to financial constraints, you can make a good dent by getting rid of the most boring tasks first. If the things you hate to do are quite common, like cleaning the house and bookkeeping for example, then there are plenty of people competing to offer you good services.

3) Ask a friend to help or just keep you company. Recently I was moving house and a friend offered to come visit while I was packing. Well that was the best idea ever! I think I packed more things during the couple of hours on the two nights that she visited than I did on my own for the whole rest of the week.

4) Split your task up into milestones so that you can tick off your percentage complete. If you know that you have to make twenty sales calls and you don’t feel like it, then you can feel good about your task being already 20% complete after the first four.

5) Turn the task into part of an imaginative drama or storyline so that you can amuse yourself silly. Pretend your task is part of a lead-up to an exciting adventure! (This idea is from Barbara Sher in Refuse to Choose).

6) Listen to, or even sing along to music. Fast, loud pop is great for tedious physical tasks, whereas classical might be better if you have to concentrate. I don’t like music at all for focused tasks that I enjoy, but it is a welcome relief when I’m bored.

7) If you have two boring tasks to do one after the other, why not try doing the both at the same time? The switching between the two boring tasks might add enough variety to make the combination interesting.
Alternate your boring task with a fun one. This was the only way I could make myself clean my room as a kid (actually, I still use this technique for cleaning the house!). I would set myself the goal of picking up and putting away 10 items and then I would read just one page of whatever book I was into at the time. I would desperately want to read the next page, so then I would go and pick up and put away another 10 things.

9) Get a stopwatch and make it a challenge for yourself. How quickly can you write that 2000 word essay? Turn on the stopwatch and find out! Then next time see if you can beat your own personal record

10) Athletes use interval training to do short bursts of high energy activity. You can use it to do short bursts of getting boring things done! Just setup a timer for 5, 10 or 15 minutes and work as fast as you can during that time. Work out how long the total task will take you and slot the sprints in around your other activities. I use to do that when I worked from home as a telephone researcher when I was at uni. I would do six sprints a day of 20 minutes each whenever it was most convenient for me. I never had to put up with two-hour blocks of tedious phone calling, but still got the work done.

11) Instead of spending all your time doing a boring task, see if you can find a way to set up an automated system for getting the task done. If you succeed it will pay off both now and in the future. For example, I once took a job as a software tester and I hated to do the step-by-step regression tests because I found them to be incredibly boring. Instead, I added value to my workplace by learning how to use an automated testing software package, writing some scripts that would do the specific mouse clicks for me, and then wrote an instruction manual for the rest of the team, teaching them how to write their own automated test code in VBScript!

If You’re Seeking Board Of Directors, CEO Jobs, CFO Job Offers Or Attention From Executive Recruiters, Here Is What To Do.
Obviously people want what they can’t have, it’s written in our genetic code to desire what we don’t have and fight for what seems achievable.

It’s the same with recruiters; if you’re available and eager then you are less desirable of a marketable asset but if you have published work all over the place, how to videos plastered on the web and you are intricately involved with the upper echelon power base in your industry niche, the key element becomes having massive visibility, and the reputation for being seen with the who’s who in the industry.

Get your articles published in industry journals and the newspaper. Make yourself available to news affiliates as an industry expert and do the same with radio. Consult for free with industry blogs and websites with high traffic and PR value. Work out a publicity deal in exchange for your efforts.

Have an aura of mystery about you. Don’t put personal information on social media sites; only use the internet for professional self promotion. What will begin to happen is first you’ll be asked to advise on transactions such as private company restructuring, then companies in the process of going public, then you’ll be lobbied for advisory board positions with public companies.

After you’ve proven yourself as an active and solid adviser and your name is associated with successful transactions you’ll begin to get the opportunity to serve on board of directors for public companies starting on the OTCBB and eventually the NASDAQ and NYSE.

Once you’ve established a pedigree with empirical evidence of strategy, contacts and the ability to work with a board for the short term and long term betterment of the company, open up the floodgates and let the offers come rolling in.

Business acumen is a knowledge that can be gained. It is the capability of a person to make decisions that will make the business profitable. By understanding how a business functions, you will be able to determine the ways on how to make money out of it. The best CEO’s know how a business works that’s why they are successful. They know how to grab that certain opportunity and benefit from it.

You should know by now that you need to educate yourself not only on the broad scope of things, but also on the specific knowledge of the venture that you are involved. If you understand how it works, you will be able to face the challenges that lie ahead of you and be able to make wise decisions. There are a lot of ways to expand business acumen, below are some of it:

1.	You can join professional business organizations so that you can join meetings and seminars. With speakers and guests talking, you will surely get a lot of great ideas to help you in your search for knowledge.

2.	Watching business channels on TV and by reading business magazines, you will be able to get the latest information on business trends. You can also see what business and industries are booming.

3.	Looking for an adviser or counselor that has been doing business can be a great help. With their guidance and advice you can be certain that the words coming from them will have a big impact on you making your decisions.

4.	You can also take business courses that build one’s understanding of how business and the markets work.

These are only a few ways to help develop your business acumen. One of the most successful ways on building it up is through experience. With experience, you will be able to encounter a lot of things first hand. By exposing yourself on the market, learning things will be more direct. You should not only limit yourself to one scenario. You can also try different businesses and markets so that your knowledge and understanding is flexible.

Being familiar with other sectors will help you in connecting one business with the other. For example, if your business is about selling fruits, knowing something about the shipping industry will surely help you in delivering your goods.

I think that every fresher is tongue-tied when he is facing the interview. The teens are generally nervous when they face this tough but essential situation. The owners of companies generally try to break your nerve when hey are taking your interview. They can make innumerable efforts to make to nervous. I am sure that the content which is supplied by this article can help you at the moment when you are facing the interview.

Next section of this article will deal in some common interview questions which are put up before the teenagers. I am sure that you can seem confident and as cool as cucumber.

A Why do you believe that you are best option which can be hired?

You must stay confident when you are answering this question. Make the interviewers realize that you are reliable, efficient and responsible candidate.

State the experiences which can help you for the post which is being elected by you?

State your past experiences and the posts which were enjoyed by you. Make them realize that you are a fast learner and eager to serve the company.

What is your strength?

Make them realize that you are good listener and love to hang around people who are skilled and proficient in their tasks. Try to hit the iron now! I am sure that you can amplify the reputation by making a wise answer for this question.

What is your weakness?

I was tagged as perfectionist. But, spaced out from all this, I love to do the tasks which are well-ordered.

Are you capable to serve our company at weekends?

This can be a tough situation at your interview! Make sure that you have made an affirmative and optimistic reply for this question. Tell them you are capable to serve them at weekends and in case if you are facing any trouble then you will let them know about this situation.

Which post is selected by you?

I am flexible with every post. I am capable to serve you at different positions.

Are you facilitated with your own transportation?

You must make the correct answer for this question. Make an optimistic reply only if you are privileged with your personal transportation.

Give reasons for which we must hire you? Make them realize your skills and capabilities. Make the company understand that it is not a wised act to reject you. Rejecting you means rejecting the grand profits which can be offered by you.

For many years companies who had their own manufacturing plants built their products by means of an assembly line. This is still prevalent in many today in such organizations as fruit canning plants. Many of the more high tech organizations have gone to networking interconnected programs and use many sources to perfect their product. One way to enter employment with these high tech businesses is to obtain a supply chain management degree.

Originally this term appeared in the 1980′s and was rather slow in its concept but rapidly grew and is in high gear in today’s markets. At the present time it is blueprinted as a network of interconnected programs which go from raw materials to the finished product. The many aspects of these programs include such things as designing, planning, determining sales possibilities to name a few.

In order to get a better paying job one often has to obtain more education. For some this seems impossible when other obligations are involved. Today, with the internet, it is possible to obtain degrees that are necessary when seeking a more lucrative position such as can be found in supply management. This degree opens many opportunities previously unattainable.

Many of the top notch internet companies have realized the need for a high tech person who is able to be knowledgeable in all steps of their networking operation which consists of customer, planning, purchasing, inventory, production and transportation. This makes it necessary that each step of the way be managed by a thoroughly trained person. This is possible with a supply chain management degree.

With the correct training a person is able to monitor each or one operation and see that it is completed with utmost care and dispatch. When the person’s ability is established they are given practically carte blanche to carry out their part of the program. Of course, the salary in this position is substantial when working with a good, reliable company.

Many times in life one says what if I had finished a program or what if I had taken a different job. Unfortunately, in many cases that is the end of it. One must remember that it’s never too late to make a change and especially a change for the better. Changing one’s habits is difficult, but determination can do it. To wish to advance to a better job will not cut it. It takes work and an investigations of the opportunities available.

Fortunately, classes and degrees are possible online today. This is a way adapted by many to improve their situation in life. Taking classes this way eliminates the driving and sitting in a class for long periods of time.

The key for a business to bloom is proper management. Without proper management, the business will not be able to reach its full potential even if its products/services are marketable enough. For effective management, management tools such as the balanced scorecard can help a lot. The balanced scorecard is a standardized performance management tool that can be used by managers to monitor the actions performed by their staff and keep track of their overall performance. It has been a proven and tested tool for effective and results-oriented management.

Almost all big companies use the balanced scorecard for strategic management. It was originally developed by Dr. Kaplan and Dr. Norton. They developed this new approach in strategic management after recognizing the weaknesses and the shortcomings of the earlier approaches in management. The balanced scorecard guides the organization to put into consideration their vision and create strategies, then translate them to action.

The balanced scorecard’s main idea is to focus the management of organizations from four perspectives. From each of perspective an objective is defined, strategies and targets are formulated, then data is collected then analyzed. The four perspectives of the balanced scorecard are the following:

1)	Learning and Growth Perspective

Knowledge is always the main resource in any organization. With the rapid advancement of technology, workers should continuously learn to keep up. Giving importance to the learning and growth perspective, both the individual and the company itself will improve. Through the balanced scorecard, the management can determine a particular area in which workers can improve if given the proper training and allocate the funds necessary for training them.

2)	Business Process Perspective

This business process perspective deals with the internal processes in the business. In this perspective of the balanced scorecard, managers can keep track of how the business is performing, and whether their products and/or services conform to what the market wants. To be effective, the metrics of this perspective should be designed by people who have first-hand knowledge of the processes involved in the business.

3)	Customer Perspective

Customers are the lifeline of businesses. In order for businesses to thrive, they should focus on customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction should be monitored. Having a good percentage of unsatisfied customers could mean a decrease in future sales even though the current sales situation seems fine.

4)	Financial Perspective

This perspective will always be a focus of all management approaches. Managers should be able to find a balance between budgeting the business’ finances without sacrificing the three other perspectives of the balanced scorecard. Financial risk assessment and cost-benefit data should be incorporated in this perspective.
